CCS2 is an interface ecosystem – not a universal promise between every vehicle and charger.
CCS2 combines the Type 2 AC geometry with additional DC contacts for combined charging. Adapter selection depends on the connector direction, charging mode and communication route.

CCS2 Charging Standard Compatibility
CCS2 is widely used for DC fast charging in Europe and other CCS2-oriented markets, while the Type 2 portion supports AC configurations. A CCS2 station cable and a vehicle with another standard need more than a shape conversion when DC communication differs.

Performance boundary
Adapter rating and actual charging are different values
The adapter or connector rating describes the product’s maximum designed operating envelope. The charging session is negotiated and limited by the vehicle, BMS, charger, cable, temperature, state of charge and software. Use the lowest applicable system limit and treat unverified combinations as requiring manual review.

Onboard charger or DC charge curve, battery temperature, state of charge and software.
Station limit
Available voltage, current, cable capability, station model, firmware and site power.
Adapter limit
Model-specific voltage, current, thermal, ingress and control specifications in the applicable documentation.

Interface questions
Is connector fit enough to confirm compatibility?
No. Charging mode, communication, vehicle version, station model and software can all affect the result.
Can an adapter increase the vehicle’s charging power?
No. It cannot override the vehicle, battery or station limits. The lowest applicable system limit controls the session.
How do I confirm the direction?
Name the connector coming from the charging source first and the vehicle inlet second, then state whether the requirement is AC or DC.
What evidence should I send?
Send the vehicle model and year, original market, inlet photo, charger connector and label, required charging mode, and any error code or session video.
Map both ends before choosing the adapter.
